Tip #1: Wash Your Hair With Lukewarm Water

Hot showers may be your favorite after a long day, but they aren’t truly helping your hair all that much. The hot water strips your hair of essential oils, that can leave it feeling drier and duller. It can also dry your scalp, weaken your roots, and cause your hair to be brittle.

Dr. Lata Ganji told Skinkraft, “Overusing very hot water causes stress to your tresses and you’ll land up with frizzy, brittle and dry hair. However, using lukewarm water does not cause any harm to your hair.”

Tip #2: Concentrate Shampoo On The Scalp

Shampoo should be concentrated on the scalp simply because washing the lengths and ends of your hair can strip strands of their moisture. Whereas your scalp is already producing oil, and will need to be cleansed the most.

Tip #3: Condition Correctly

I’m going to take a wild guess and say that you already know that you should use a conditioner, but are you sure you’re using it correctly? Ask yourself where your hair gets greasy first, which is typically the roots- and use it as a reminder that you should apply conditioner from mid-length to ends.

Conditioners have fatty alcohols, and oils to make your hair soft and flexible whereas others have proteins to bind split ends and thickening agents to make it feel fuller. Therefore, when you condition from the roots down, it can essentially weigh down your hair and give it less volume.

Also, make sure you leave your conditioner in for five to seven minutes and to brush your hair with a wide-tooth comb to detangle with the product still inside!

Tip #4 Make Sure You Rinse Thoroughly

You’re almost done! Which means rinsing out any remaining products is crucial. Be extremely thorough when washing everything out because the leftover product can leave buildup.

Tip 5: Don’t Dry Your Hair With A Towel

Yes, I know towel drying seems like the correct option to remove excess water, but it may not do you justice. Our best hair tip would be to squeeze out excess water and dry off using our plush, water-absorbent hair towel, which is gentle as opposed to a regular towel. It’s perfect to help with split ends, curly hair, and give it that fabulous frizz-free air dry.

But there’s more to it than just swapping out your towel!! The drying technique also comes into play. While it might seem second nature to wring or rub, gently pressing the water out of your hair with our super absorbing fabric towel can prevent frizz and help keep your beautiful hair healthy!

Tip 6: Protect Your Hair With A Leave-In Conditioner

You’re probably wondering what’s the difference between leave-in conditioner and regular conditioner. Leave-in conditioner is formulated to be left in your hair after you wash it. It coats and absorbs into your hair, giving you a healthier and lustrous look.

Speaking of which, our favorite leave-in conditioner is back!

Redemption is a multi-tasking leave-in spray that helps tame frizz, add moisture to dry and stressed hair, and repair damage- all while adding thermal protection.

Whether you live in a city or a rural area, our conditioner can protect your hair from pollution, as well as sun and heat damage.

So…yes! A leave-in conditioner is a must. Think of it like drinking water, but for your hair. While not all leave-in conditioners are formulated the same, we are proud to introduce Redemption as our first all in one hair protector.
